We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and engaging Digital Graphics Technician Undergraduate Placement

The McLaughlin and Harvey Undergraduate programme will give you the opportunity to train as a Digital Graphics Technician. We offer a paid, University Placement with the opportunity to progress onto the graduate scheme following your graduation. Training and guidance with all software will be provided through the placement.

Responsibilities

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the Digital Graphics team in the preparation and development of 2D and 3D visualisations for tender and construction requirements.
• Utilisation of 3D software Blender
• Utilisation of Adobe Creative Cloud applications to enhance 3D visualisations e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
• Creation of 3D rendered visualisations.
• Access and extract information from 3D models (IFC, Revit, DWG, etc.).
• Develop visualisations to illustrate logistical solutions.

Our Core Digital Graphics Technician Placement Programme focuses on developing your skills both professionally and interpersonally. The one-year programme is structured and you will experience working with other departments to broaden your knowledge of how the business operates.

Experience

Essential

• Studying a degree level qualification in graphic design/visuals or in an associated field/discipline.
• Enthusiasm and a desire to gain knowledge in graphic design process and software.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and to strict timescales.
• Time management skills and competent in prioritising workload.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Team player

Desirable

• Experience in graphics design or CAD based software.
• Strong IT skills in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
• Video editing experience (using Adobe Premier Pro & After Effects).
• Experience in editing artwork and video animation (using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
• Previous experience using 3D modelling software in a professional environment.
• Creative / artistic flair to generate new ideas for presentation of information.
• Previous placement/internship experience in a similar role, desirable but not essential
